Plot[]
Nigel was a boy with several irritating habits, such as constantly rolling his eyes, clicking his tongue, and standing around with his mouth open, much to the annoyance of his parents. His worst habit by far, however, was his love of killing spiders.
One night he caught Ariadne, a spider pregnant with thousands of babies who had made the mistake of seeking shelter in Nigel’s house. After killing poor Ariadne, Nigel threw her body into the bin, where it was carted off to the Corporation Dump.
Ariadne’s babies, who had died when she had, now burst forth in an army of pale white ghost-spiders, making their way to Nigel’s house while he slept with his mouth gaping wide open. The tiny spirits slipped into Nigel’s yawning trap, and went to work overnight spinning their ghastly little webs.
When Nigel woke the next morning and discovered that every time he coughed a little spider would pop out, he was so horrified that he ceased all of his bad habits, and took up knitting. He didn’t know why, he just felt that he had to. Exactly like a spider spinning its web.
Moral[]
The moral of this story is “Be kind to animals.”
