The Honourable Jack de Laurney de Havilland de Trow was a character who appeared in the series 2 episode Jack in a Box.

Description[]

A chubby boy with rosy cheeks and short straight brown hair in a centre parting, Jack was a boy who rabbited on constantly, even when others were trying to have their own say. He dressed in green shorts, an indigo blazer, a yellow shirt and red waistcoat. He also wore a green bow tie with yellow polka dots.

History[]

No matter how much his parents told Jack to shut up, he always kept on nattering away about whatever came into his head. However, when a mysterious ventriloquist named Mr. Twig-Tailor came to his house to put on a show for Jack’s little sister Rosie’s birthday, the man told Jack that he would tell him the secrets of his dummies if Jack came to his joke shop the following day.

Sure enough, the next morning Jack showed up at Mr. Twig-Tailor’s shop, but after continuing with his mindless chatter, the man swept him up into one of his boxes and turned Jack into one of his dummies!

As Rosie was so upset about her missing brother, in order to cheer her up, Lord de Trow bought a puppet from a shop window in Great Pudden that he thought bore a striking resemblance to his son, and so Jack made it back home after all!
